Dr. Ekaterina Slipacoff

Dentist

Dr. Ekaterina Slipacoff, or Dr. Katie for short, obtained her ‘Doctor of Medical Dentistry’ (DMD) degree from Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary in 2011. She is a general dentist who offers a wide spectrum of services to her patients at Slipacoff Dental Centre in Sarnia. From the moment she graduated dental school, Dr. Katie has been very passionate about orthodontic treatment and what it can do to improve our overall health.

She has taken numerous postgraduate courses and mini-residencies to enhance her knowledge and skill in offering early interceptive orthodontic treatment to growing children and comprehensive orthodontic treatment with braces and Invisalign to teenagers and adults.

Dr. Katie incorporates a multidisciplinary approach to orthodontic treatment that she provides. She believes that a healthy jaw joint is just as important as having straight teeth and a nice facial profile. This is why she treats Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) in her attempt to develop a well functioning bite in addition to the beautiful smiles that she creates.

Dr. Katie and her team of dental hygienists and assistants are looking forward to helping you and your whole family achieve all of your orthodontic needs.

Dr. Katie feels truly grateful to be able to practice dentistry alongside her husband, Dr. Tyler Slipacoff, who she shares two beautiful children with (Sasha and Jake) and their English bulldog, Levy. In her spare time she loves reading, spending time with her family and focusing on a healthy lifestyle.

Dr. Tyler Slipacoff

Dentist

Dr. Tyler Slipacoff was born and raised in Sarnia, Ontario. He attended Lakeroad Public School and Northern High School, which is across the street from the Slipacoff Dental Centre, both in Sarnia, Ontario. He graduated with honors in Human Kinetics from the University of Windsor in 2007, with a Major in Movement Science.

In 2014, he graduated with his Doctor of Medical Dentistry Degree from Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary. And it was in Budapest where Dr. Tyler met Dr. Ekaterina, his soon-to-be wife, who is also a dentist practicing at Slipacoff Dental Centre. In 2019, Dr. Slipacoff graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario. He was also on the Dean’s list for all Universities attended.

Dr. Tyler Slipacoff enjoys working with people and helping his patients improve their quality of life. At a young age, he admired his father, Dr. Lennie Slipacoff’s, passion as a dentist and had always hoped to develop that same type of commitment for his future career, in which he has now found in the profession of dentistry. Dr. Tyler loves that the dental industry is challenging and constantly evolving with technology. Dentistry is a natural fit for Dr. Slipacoff as he always knew he wanted to be in a health type profession and enjoyed working with his hands.

In his spare time, Dr. Tyler enjoys staying physically active. He likes to work out every day, as well as play basketball on a weekly basis. But above all, family to Dr. Tyler is the most important. He enjoys spending time with his family and his English bulldog, Levy.

Dr. Ryan Slipacoff

Dentist

Dr. Ryan Slipacoff studied dentistry at Semelweis University in Budapest, Hungary. Ryan was born and raised in Sarnia. Ever since he was young he wanted to pursue a career in dentistry where he would follow in his father's footsteps.

Through a close mentorship between Dr. Lennie Slipacoff and Dr. Drew Mathany, Ryan has dedicated himself to providing comprehensive dental care with a gentle hand.

In his spare time he enjoys cooking, learning about history, and travelling. As an avid sports fan, you’ll find him cheering on his Detroit Lions. Being a part of the community is important to him so you’ll see him getting involved with various causes throughout the year.

Dr. Lennie Slipacoff

Dentist

Dr. Slipacoff graduated from University of Western Ontario, School of Dentistry in 1981 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. Dr. Leonard Slipacoff, Doctor of Dental Surgery Dentist was born in Petrolia, Ontario and raised in Sarnia, Ontario for most of his life.

Dr. Leonard Slipacoff, Doctor of Dental Surgery Dentist was born in Petrolia, Ontario and raised in Sarnia, Ontario for most of his life. Married to Cindy Slipacoff, they have three sons together, Tyler, Craig and Ryan. Tyler and Ryan are also Dentists and work with Dr. Slipacoff in his practice as well, while Craig works in the Computer Science and Information Technology field. Tyler is married to Ekaterina, who is also a dentist practicing at Slipacoff Dental Centre.

Dr. Slipacoff graduated from Northern Collegiate Institute & Vocational School in 1972 and then continued his post secondary education at the University of Western Ontario where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1975. In 1981, Dr. Lennie graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He was the recipient of the Prosthodontics of Ontario Award and upon graduation, he immediately started practicing dentistry at his current location, 929 Michigan Avenue. Realizing that dentistry is a very dynamic profession that is constantly changing, Dr. Slipacoff has done extensive training and continuing education throughout the United States and Canada. It was very important for him to be able to offer his patients the most up to date and current treatments available. This has allowed his practice to offer a full range of dental services eliminating the need for referrals to other dentists and specialists.

Dr. Slipacoff is very passionate about dentistry today as he was 38 years ago when he first graduated. With all the advancements in dental care and technology, he has found it exciting and rewarding to show patients how much easier and gentle dentistry is today. Equally exciting for him, is to have his two sons and daughter-in-law working with him in his practice, as they have also done extensive continuing education and training throughout the world. Dr. Slipacoff said, “I am very proud to watch them grow and learn professionally. It is rewarding for me to share my knowledge and expertise that I have accumulated over my career. It is so important to me that my patients receive the same care and treatment that they have received from me over many years. I cannot thank my patients enough for all the years of loyalty and support extended to me and Cindy and the continued support for Tyler, Ryan and Ekaterina. I am truly blessed.”

Dr. Fraser Mackinlay

Dentist

Dr. Fraser Mackinlay, Doctor of Dental Surgery, graduated with a Scholarship from the University of Toronto. He was also the recipient of the Toronto Crown & Bridge Study Club Award for most Outstanding Student in the Crown & Bridge component of Clinical Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Mackinlay trained at the International Association for Orthodontics and has completed numerous continuing education courses including Cosmetic Implants and Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Mackinlay takes great pride in making his patients look and feel better.

Lisa

Office Manager

Lisa, our Office Manager, graduated from Baker College in 1989 as a Dental Assistant. She worked as a Dental Assistant after graduation until 2006, then switched to an Assistant/Reception position until 2009 before becoming the Office Manager at Slipacoff Dental Centre. Lisa helps her patients understand their dental needs and insurance coverage daily, and she loves her role as it is different everyday yet exciting and challenging. Lisa loves working with the staff just as much as she enjoys working closely with her patients. In her spare time, she loves to travel and spend quality time with her family, her children and her beautiful granddaughter.

Jackie

Assistant Office Manager

Jackie, our Assistant Office Manager, graduated from Lambton College in Medical Administration & Sterile Processing Technician. She joined Slipacoff Dental Centre in September 2018 and has loved it since due to the amazing group of staff whom she works with. She enjoys her work in the dental field – from greeting patients when they first arrive to helping them better understand their insurance coverage and treatment plans. Jackie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, travelling to different National Parks, and spending time at the beach during a hot summer day.

Suzanne

Dental Hygienist

Suzanne, our Dental Hygienist, graduated from Durham College in Dental Hygiene and has been with Slipacoff Dental Centre for 30 years. She loves meeting new people and she cherishes her relationships with all her patients. In her spare time, Suzanne likes baking sugar cookies, repurposing furniture, and watching her son play baseball. She roots for the Yankees and loves travelling.

Kaitlyn

Dental Hygienist

I was born and raised in Sarnia.  From an early age I enjoyed my visits to the dentist, which sparked my passion for oral health and led me to pursue a career in dental hygiene.

I studied at Fanshawe College where I earned both my Dental Assisting Certificate and my Dental hygiene Advanced Diploma, graduating from The Dental Hygiene program in 2021.  During my studies, I gained hands-on experience by working as a dental assistant over the summers.  I an now excited to continue expanding my knowledge at Slipacoff Dental Centre , with a particular interest in orthodontics, as I strive to provide exceptional care to all my patients.

Dental Hygienist

Alison, our Dental Hygienist, graduated from Fanshawe College in Dental Assisting and their 3-year program in Dental Hygiene. She has been with Slipacoff Dental Centre since 2014 and loves her work in the dental field as she is able to help patients improve their oral health, their smile and their confidence! Outside of work, she enjoys travelling the world with her husband and spending quality time with her family.

Dental Assistant

Stephanie, our Level 2 Dental Assistant, graduated from Fanshawe College and has been with Slipacoff Dental Centre since 2014. She enjoys her work in the dental field as she likes working and communicating with her patients, especially with kids! Her day-to-day responsibilities are different yet exciting. In her spare time, she enjoys playing all sports and being outdoors with her family and friends!

I graduated from Durham College and I have been working at Slipacoff Dental Centre since 2021 as Level II Dental Assistant. I love my profession as I get to help my patients, and its always a great pleasure to work with highly professional and amazing team. In my spare time, I enjoy listening to music, being outdoors with family and friends.

Samantha

Dental Assistant

Samantha, our Level 2 Certified Dental Assistant, graduated from Dental Assisting at Fanshawe College in 2009 and has been working as a dental assistant since. In February of 2011, she started her position at Slipacoff Dental Centre. Samantha enjoys her work here because she gets to be a part of an amazing team. She also loves that she can provide great dental care for her patients. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her family and friends, work out, experience new restaurants, travel and shop.

Darlene

Dental Assistant

Darlene returns to our team after living out of town for three years. She brings over 30 years of dental office experience with her. She has been a Certified Dental Assistant since 1988, becoming certified after “on the job training”, then formal training to write the ODAA Certification Exam. In 2012 she completed Level II training at George Brown College and became NDAEB Certified. She is committed to her career and looks for continuing education opportunities to carry her further as the profession evolves. Darlene loves meeting her patients and helping them with their dental needs. The variety that dentistry provides is what has kept her in this profession. She is thrilled to be back in Sarnia and working with our team, she says it’s because we are committed to providing top notch dental care and continuing education. When not assisting Dr. Ryan with patients Darlene enjoys being with her grandkids and family and friends. She loves to travel and enjoys planning her next adventure. Darlene and her husband live in Sarnia with 2 cats and cute chihuahua (best dog ever!!)

Preventative Dental Assistant

Frieda graduated in 1990 from St. Clair College with a Preventative Dental Assistant Certification. She has been with Dr. Fraser since 1997. In her free time, she enjoys boating, yoga, and reading.

Brenda

Sterilization Coordinator

Brenda, our Sterilization Coordinator and Receptionist, graduated from St. Clair College with her HARP Certification for Xrays, and has been with Slipacoff Dental Centre since 1999. She enjoys working with her fellow colleagues as they are an amazing team who works together like a family. Outside of work, she enjoys playing cards and camping.

Katie

Receptionist

Katie, our Receptionist, graduated from Lambton College in Business Administrative Marketing. She has worked in customer service for over 15 years and as a restaurant manager for 10 years. Katie really enjoys working with the public and has been with Slipacoff Dental Centre since 2015. She started as a dental receptionist and has progressed to the Office Manager role through continued support and education. Along with seeing patients and building relationships, she enjoys working at Slipacoff Dental because patient care is a priority and she feels surrounded by an excellent team. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, playing baseball, exercising, and being outdoors with friends and family.

Tina

Hygiene Coordinator

Tina, our Hygiene Coordinator and Front Desk Reception, grew up in Sarnia and has worked with Slipacoff Dental Centre since 2018. Tina has a profound understanding of infectious control of sterilization. She has worked in restaurant customer service for over 25 years and was later progressed to a management role. Tina enjoys working in a fast paced environment and working with the public especially in Sarnia, which is an amazing community. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing baseball, pool and golf. Tina loves being outdoors and enjoys the great community in Sarnia.

I was born and raised in Sarnia and graduated from Stratford College with Level I Dental Assisting course in 2022 and have been with Slipacoff Dental Centre training as a Dental Assistant and doing Receptionist work. I am a wife and mother with two girls and I love spending time with my family and friends.

I graduated from medical Office Administration at Fanshawe College and was thrilled to join the Slipacoff Dental Team in June 2024.  I have worked in the dental field for almost 9 years and have loved it ever since.  With a passion for the dental industry, I love helping patients while continually expanding my knowledge.  When I’m not at the office, I enjoy spending quality time with my husband and two children, as well as enjoying activities such as soccer, volleyball, and camping

I have been working as a dental hygienist since and love what I do. I am a proud wife and mom to two teenager boys. I love boating in the summer and spending time with family and friends.

I have been a dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist with over 17 years of experience in multiple healthcare industries.  I strive in Periodontics, client education, and creating a comfortable environment for my clients.  As a compassionate professional, Amber focuses on building long-term relationships with her clients, ensuring that they receive personalized care.

Beyond my work in dentistry, I am also passionate about animal welfare.  I am actively involved in fostering feral kittens.  I also value giving back to the community and advocates for public health through consistent blood/plasma donations.

Outside of work, I enjoy going to sporting events (Go Leaf’s!) and attending live music of any genre!  With a warm and empathetic approach, I strive to make a positive impact both in my professional field and in my community.
