Dr. Leonard Slipacoff, Doctor of Dental Surgery Dentist was born in Petrolia, Ontario and raised in Sarnia, Ontario for most of his life. Married to Cindy Slipacoff, they have three sons together, Tyler, Craig and Ryan. Tyler and Ryan are also Dentists and work with Dr. Slipacoff in his practice as well, while Craig works in the Computer Science and Information Technology field. Tyler is married to Ekaterina, who is also a dentist practicing at Slipacoff Dental Centre.

Dr. Slipacoff graduated from Northern Collegiate Institute & Vocational School in 1972 and then continued his post secondary education at the University of Western Ontario where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1975. In 1981, Dr. Lennie graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He was the recipient of the Prosthodontics of Ontario Award and upon graduation, he immediately started practicing dentistry at his current location, 929 Michigan Avenue. Realizing that dentistry is a very dynamic profession that is constantly changing, Dr. Slipacoff has done extensive training and continuing education throughout the United States and Canada. It was very important for him to be able to offer his patients the most up to date and current treatments available. This has allowed his practice to offer a full range of dental services eliminating the need for referrals to other dentists and specialists.

Dr. Slipacoff is very passionate about dentistry today as he was 38 years ago when he first graduated. With all the advancements in dental care and technology, he has found it exciting and rewarding to show patients how much easier and gentle dentistry is today. Equally exciting for him, is to have his two sons and daughter-in-law working with him in his practice, as they have also done extensive continuing education and training throughout the world. Dr. Slipacoff said, “I am very proud to watch them grow and learn professionally. It is rewarding for me to share my knowledge and expertise that I have accumulated over my career. It is so important to me that my patients receive the same care and treatment that they have received from me over many years. I cannot thank my patients enough for all the years of loyalty and support extended to me and Cindy and the continued support for Tyler, Ryan and Ekaterina. I am truly blessed.”

Having previously worked for two years at the Department of Prosthodontics at Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary, where she treated patients and taught prosthodontics at the dental program, she was thrilled to incorporate her knowledge into her day-to-day practice in Canada.

Originally from Samara, Russia, she moved to Canada in 2004 to finish school in Montreal, Quebec. She obtained her ‘Doctor of Medical Dentistry’ licence from Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary in 2011. After meeting her now husband, Dr. Tyler Slipacoff, Dr. Ekaterina has moved to Sarnia, Ontario and successfully completed Canadian dental boards in order to start practicing with her father-in-law, Dr. Lennie Slipacoff. Dr. Ekaterina says: “Learning from Dr. Lennie Slipacoff has been the most challenging, but truly rewarding experience of my life. Dr. Lennie is not only my father-in-law, but also my mentor and my inspiration to do family dentistry. I feel lucky to have been introduced into a dental practice that values compassion, professionalism, patient trust and high-quality dental care. I am determined to keep learning and perfecting my skills to continue growing the practice that Dr. Lennie Slipacoff has built over the past 35 years.”

Dr. Ekaterina – or as everyone calls her Dr. Katie – is looking forward to helping everyone who comes to Slipacoff Dental Centre to own a healthy smile.

n 2014, he graduated with his Doctor of Medical Dentistry Degree from Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary. And it was in Budapest where Dr. Tyler met Dr. Ekaterina, his soon-to-be wife, who is also a dentist practicing at Slipacoff Dental Centre. In 2019, Dr. Slipacoff graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario. He was also on the Dean’s list for all Universities attended.

Dr. Tyler Slipacoff enjoys working with people and helping his patients improve their quality of life. At a young age, he admired his father, Dr. Lennie Slipacoff’s, passion as a dentist and had always hoped to develop that same type of commitment for his future career, in which he has now found in the profession of dentistry. Dr. Tyler loves that the dental industry is challenging and constantly evolving with technology. Dentistry is a natural fit for Dr. Slipacoff as he always knew he wanted to be in a health type profession and enjoyed working with his hands.

In his spare time, Dr. Tyler enjoys staying physically active. He likes to work out every day, as well as play basketball on a weekly basis. But above all, family to Dr. Tyler is the most important. He enjoys spending time with his family and his two adorable dogs, Ari and Latka.
